Staffing agencies have unique interests and concerns in the legal arena. I have been representing staffing agencies in collection actions for more than 15 years. Some of the situations that I frequently encounter are:
– Clients that won’t pay a recruiter/agency for a successfully referred candidate
– Clients that convert a temporary employee to direct employment without paying a conversion fee
– Clients that don’t pay for their temporary employees
Candidates are a staffing agency’s inventory, and when a client refuses to pay, the agency is jeopardized. Similarly, temporary employees are the agency’s inventory, and more importantly, the agency pays the weekly wages of the temporary employee.
It is important to take quick action – to formalize payment arrangements or begin litigation. Attorney Rosenthal has represented many staffing agencies and recruiters in legal disputes and collection actions throughout Connecticut for more than a decade.
